Post Palimpsest
Installation at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2021
POST-PALIMPSEST installation is an alternative, experimental version of the "Palimpsest", as constituted by the urban tissue of the Aristotle Axis. It generates an innovative, partially automatic way of reading and transcribing typological and stylistic elements of buildings and axle spatial configurations. It is implemented through cutting-edge technologies in design, modelling and their application in the scales of architectural design, urban design, urban landscape and public space. POST-PALIMPSEST reflects, among other processes, the activity of Research Unit ‘INNEN: Innovative Environments’ of ‘B’ Department of Architecture and Urban Design’ and techniques and methodologies developed within the framework of Horizon2020 research programs' ‘V4design' and 'MindSpaces’, incorporating the reuse and repurposing of existing visual multimedia content, its semantic and conceptual enrichment, the supporting of innovative design, architectural, urban and landscape and virtual reality (VR) multimedia applications.
